CHARACTER INFO
Name: Jesse Pinkman
Canon: Breaking Bad
Canon Point: 4.09 after his fight with Walt.
History: WIKI
Personality:

Jesse is... Kind of a smart-ass. And by "kind of" I mean he exemplifies "little shit". He has a problem with authority (while simultaneously seeking approval from the people he gives the hardest time, first with Mr. White and then later on with Mike) that can and does get him into trouble from time to time. Energetic to the point of being almost obnoxious when he's not being endearing, he talks fast (and a lot), and does so before thinking a lot of the time. He talks just to talk and to have something to do- his painfully short attention span dictates that he always be occupied with something, and a lot of the time, that's just... Talking.

Under all of that wannabe badass posturing, though, he's a good kid. He has a good heart, and that's usually evident enough pretty quickly when interacting with him... Once he calms down a little bit and lightens up on the bullshit. He's loyal to a fault, and while this can be (and is) applied to a lot of characters, it's one of Jesse's defining traits. While he isn't immune to making bad choices all on his own (which he does, constantly, out of a combination of stubbornness and a degree of self-sabotage), a lot of the trouble he gets into stems from not wanting to let the people he cares about down and letting said people work him over; it's taken to the extreme when, at the end of the third season, he murders an innocent man to protect his partner.

At the point in canon I'll be taking him from, he's a little more subdued, a little surlier than he once was. Traumatized is probably the best way to put it- he's killed a man, and he isn't taking it well. He won't be as outgoing as he would have been had he been pulled from an earlier time, but because of his extroverted nature he isn't the type of person to isolate himself to facilitate coping- he'll be out and about, just... Not as happily. Avoiding silence and loneliness will be his motivating factors, at least early on. He also has a way about him that makes people want to "adopt" him, or "fix" him, if they're the fixer-upper type- it's painfully obvious that there's a lot more to him than the lifestyle he leads (even if he doesn't see it himself) and despite his shortcomings he manages to be a pretty likable guy most of the time. And he throws one hell of a party, so there's that.

As far as his likes and dislikes: Jesse is artistic by nature. He's shown to have an animated, cartoony drawing style that matches his ostentatious personality, and later on in the third season we find out that he also has some skill in woodworking, which he describes in a sort of loving detail that makes the fact that he traded his creation for drugs even sadder. Cooking meth may not have been the best outlet for that creative urge, but it's clear that he takes pride in what he creates. He's also surprisingly domestic, for a drug dealer, and he loves kids.

Dislikes... He has an issue with authority, as most smartasses do. He doesn't like being told what to do at all, and he can be stubborn as hell about it. In a way, this leaves him open to manipulation- on a logical front he'll argue with you until the cows come home, but when emotions become involved it's harder for him to realize when he's been had... And even when he does there's no guarantee it'll help much.

Also worth mentioning: he's a recovering drug addict who's fallen off the wagon, and as a result he'll be dealing with the horrors of getting clean when he first arrives. The status of that is more dependency than full-blown addiction as of right now, but it's still something he'll have to work on as he settles into the new normalcy of town.

All things considered, he's a pretty normal twenty-five year old if not a little more damaged than your average average-guy. He has his own demons to deal with (the figurative kind.....) and he's managing them as best he can with the skill set he has. His strict, authoritarian upbringing hasn't left him with much by way of self-esteem, and a lot of his front was created to compensate for that. But again, good heart.

Abilities: Some (limited) chemistry knowledge, artistic skills, carpentry/woodworking... he pretty much defines "jack of all trades but master of none" unless we're talking crystal meth. Which we aren't. Totally not, not in this peaceful little town...
